Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand. The city occupies 1,568.7 square kilometers in the Chao Phraya River delta in Central Thailand, and has a population of over eight million, or 12.6 percent of the country's population, making it the most populated city in the country.
Bangkok has many modern architectural buildings contrasting with the simple traditional homes along the Chao Phraya River. An amazing variety of stunning colors can be seen in the markets. Bargaining for purchases is a tradition expected of everyone!
